There is no “one-size-fits-all"
Despite misconceptions, there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to grief. There are no discrete “stages” one most go through. Grief is very individual. Many factors influence how a person grieves including family upbringing, previous loss experiences, circumstances surrounding the loss and personal coping styles.
If you feel “stuck” in your grief, having trouble functioning after a loss, or feeling misunderstood, try counseling. Counseling can provide a safe place to explore thoughts and feelings and help a person with the “new normal” after the loss.
